
Helen graduated from medical school with Honours at Monash University in 2012. She completed her Bachelor of Medical Science research degree at the Queens Medical Research Institute in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her achievements since include a post graduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy, and Master of Reproductive Medicine (with Excellence).
Helen completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology through the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne. Following this, she undertook a two-year fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery under the auspices of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society.
Helen holds public appointments at both the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Mercy Hospital for Women, where her areas of interest are endometriosis, pelvic pain and advanced gynaecological laparoscopy. Helen also performs outpatient hysteroscopy in the Royal Women’s Hospital Ambulatory Gynaecology Unit.
Helen is deeply committed to optimising patient outcomes using evidence-based practice. Helen’s research interests include endometriosis, pelvic floor muscle pain (pelvic floor tension myalgia), and junior doctor health and wellbeing.
Helen is mum to two small but very energetic boys, with whom she spends lots of time outdoors.
